About this event

In 1879, there were only fourteen women on the British medical register. Medical women fought prejudice and preconceptions to prove themselves as capable practitioners, with many becoming leaders in their respective fields. This event will provide insight into some of the inspiring women doctors who were active in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, and will trace the evolution of the position of women in medicine during this period.

A member of the Medical Women's Federation will also provide insight to the activity of the MWF locally and Nationally.
